Hi Jacki –
Tara and I are having a great time with agility classes. You may know our teacher, Lyssa Noble Dennis, who is now in Carlsbad but used to be very active in obedience and agility in the L.A. area.

Handling Classes at PoodleTown
Handling Class on a beautiful spring evening at PoodleTown with Mark Stephenson instructing.
As you can see here, Poodles learn very quickly. Anja thinks she knows it all. Dallas is so happy to be learning as well.
Logan and his little dachshund friend are getting ready for the Junior-Handling ring when Logan is old enough.
Participating in group activities with your dog is good socialization for both your dog and you.

Greetings from Cindy Lou Who’s new family
Just wanted you to know that Cindy Lou is absolutely wonderful. I love her soooo much. She is a very very special girl. She’s doing well with *everything*! I’ve had her on the grooming table for some clipping 2xs plus a couple of more times just for brushing and she is doing well. She’s had a couple of baths too – I have a nice stainless steel bath in the grooming room that Tim got for me a year ago.
We’ve been getting her out several times a week for socialization and she is amazing.
And, Zorro is so good with her. He plays very gently with her and they adore each other.
Hope you have a happy weekend!
Tara

Bloating | Bloat: Do Poodles Burp?
(in response to an email)
Thank you for your email. Burping means gas build up. Not good because it can lead to Bloat which can be fatal.
Things that help to prevent Bloating are:
- No Exercise 1 hour before or after meals
- NO feeding or watering out of elevated bowls
- Feeding only highly digestible foods that your dog is not allergic to like Raw Green Tripe
- No grains in food
- Feeding a number of small meals instead of one big meal
- No “Free Feeding’ – (having food available at any given time)
- Chiropractic adjustments
- Prairie Paste – 3 tubes, double dose 4 times per day until gone.
- After Prairie Paste treatment is completed add double dose of Critter Corral to food with each meal.
- Do not let your dog bark for long durations of time. They swallow air and this can blow up the belly and cause bloat.
- If dog is very thirsty only allow small amounts of water at 10 minute intervals. Never allow them to drink in excess, particularly if feeding kibble which can bulk up and cause bloat and torsion (can lead to a quick death).
- Purchase a Bloat Kit to fend off torsion on the way to your emergency treatment facility. We can provide this to you on special order.
Hope all this gives you some good information to work with.
Take care.
Woof,
Jacki
Male Standard Poodle Gets Major: Fletcher
Here is the show picture of Fletcher at his big win on Jan 8, 2010 DETAILS
Special Announcement!
Well all that grooming and primping at Admiration Ranch is paying off! Fletcher got a Major at the Sand to Sea Non-Sporting Association Show in Indio yesterday. Fletcher showed like a rock star! He’s such a calm cool kid but when he gets in that ring STAND BACK AND WATCH! We are so proud of him! The day was so gorgeous and skies were so clear at the beautiful Polo Club where the show is held. Both Fletch and I had fun. We look forward to doing it again tomorrow!
Update on Bella
Testimonial: Jack
I just wanted to drop a line about our beautiful Jack. He is 16 months old now! I can’t believe we have had him a year now. He thinks he’s human and often I find myself treating like one of the boys! He and our youngest son fight like siblings and are often in trouble together! Thanks again for helping pick out a wonderful addition to our family, we love him!

Standard Poodle Puppy Testimonial: Yzzie
Hi Jacki ..
Just thought I’d send a note and tell you how wonderful my little fairy princess is .. she’s just a tad over 19″ at the shoulder and 33 pounds at almost 11 months. Her vet called her perfect and she is.
She’s just graduating her first obedience class – at the top – and is heading into agility classes next. She’s smart and wants to please. Most importantly, though, she is the sweetest little girl you would ever hope to meet. She loves to sit with you, whether at home, at work or at Starbucks (one of her favorite places!). She cuddles with you on the couch, sits in your lap and loves to be held. She’s quite the little charmer and has family and friends eating out of her paws. And she loves dogs as much as she loves people.
She’s quite the little athlete, too. I see her competing in agility and especially in jumpers.
She still puppy-silly, and has the hairdo to go with it. She’ll get her first “adult” look in a few months, but for now she’s floppy and funny and my only worry with her is that someone will steal her. I’ve had a number of people as for her breeder and lots more just ask if I want to sell her.
Here’s a picture of her and her silly do ..
Many thanks,
Laura Rooney
